Editorial policy and data sources
AlfaFinances is an independent research and education tool. This page explains where our information comes from, how our scores work, what we will not do, and how to report a mistake.
What AlfaFinances is, and is not
We are not a broker, investment adviser or trading-signal service. We do not execute trades, hold customer money or tell you what to buy or sell. Everything on the site is general information for education.
Where our data comes from
- Prices, company profiles and financial ratios: public market data (such as Yahoo Finance). Treated as delayed reference figures: they can lag the live market and may contain errors.
- Insider trades: public SEC Form 4 filings from SEC EDGAR.
- News headlines: published by third-party news sources and linked to their originals.
- Estimates and models: anything we calculate, such as the AI score, price outlook ranges or hypothetical comparisons, is labelled as such and explained in our methodology. When a figure is unavailable we say so rather than estimate it.
Educational content
Our lessons explain general principles in plain English. Each lesson shows a "last reviewed" date and links to official sources, such as Investor.gov, FINRA, the CFPB, the FCA and MoneyHelper, so you can check and go deeper. Lessons do not rank or recommend specific products.
Independence and commercial relationships
We do not recommend, rank or partner with specific credit cards, brokers or products in our educational content. Where a feature costs money, it is shown on the pricing page.
AI-generated content
Ask Alfa, our AI assistant, produces answers using real data tools, but AI can make mistakes. Its answers are not advice, and you should verify figures that matter against the original source.
Corrections
If you spot an error in a lesson, a figure or a source, please tell us through the contact page. We review reports and correct confirmed mistakes.
Risk disclosure
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Past performance does not indicate future results. Please do your own research and consider speaking to a qualified financial adviser before making investment decisions.
